When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. ~Captain Corelli’s Mandolin

Our wedding day (June 18th 2011) was a carefully thought-out, mess!  It was craziness until the moment when it all just fell into place.  These are the risks you take when you want an outdoor, destination (of sorts) wedding with plenty of DIY projects in between.  We were married at Jean Klock Park Pavilion in Benton Harbor, MI and our reception was held at The Heritage Center in neighboring Saint Joseph, MI.  We had to go to three different county offices to retrieve the “correct” marriage license and ended up getting it right before our rehearsal!  It was gray, windy and stormy the whole day, until I walked down the aisle.  It was almost like God was smiling at me during my special moment.  I remember being completely overwhelmed by emotion and seeing only Nick when I walked ran down the aisle.  Here are some of my favorite pictures captured by Kate Podjan Photography.
